How it works

You, your circle, and the unlock.

  1. You block it

Turn on the site block once in iPhone Settings and pick the betting apps to shield. About 10 minutes, on your own, at any hour.

  2. Your circle holds the key

Invite up to four people you trust. One of them sets a Screen Time code on your phone, in person, so the app can't be deleted and settings can't be changed without them. If protection is switched off anyway, they're told.

  3. Unlocks take everyone

Want something open? Ask. Everyone in your circle has to say yes, then there's a one-hour wait. Sites open for 30 minutes and close again on their own. One "no" pauses that category for 24 hours.

Other blockers stop sites. This one tells someone.

For helpers

Worried about someone? You can hold the key, and you never pay.

Many people find Winner's Win because they love someone who bets. Being in their circle is a small, specific job, and it never costs you anything.

What you do

  • Talk first, calmly. Here's how to bring it up.
  • Sit with them while they set it up, and open the invite link they send you.
  • Set the Screen Time code on their iPhone, in person. The app walks you both through it in about 15 minutes.
  • Approve or decline unlock requests.
  • Get a note if protection goes off, and a short weekly update.

What you don't see

  • Their browsing history or which sites they visited
  • Which apps they picked
  • Where they are on a map
  • Their phone number

You don't need an account or the app. The link works in any browser. For the most reliable alerts, get the app on iPhone and choose "I'm here for someone".

Switch or cancel any time in Settings.

Both plans start with a 7-day trial. Apple asks for your card when you start, and charges it when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Plans renew automatically; cancel any time in Settings > your name > Subscriptions. One free trial per Apple Account.

If your subscription ends, blocking stops. If your plan is set to end, you and your circle hear before it does. Renewing turns blocking back on; on iPhone, you pick Winner's Win once more in Settings.

Mac: coming soon

Blocking a phone doesn't help if the laptop is one click away. The Mac app blocks the same list in every browser, links to the account and circle you set up on iPhone, and your circle hears if it goes quiet. Nothing extra to buy.

Questions

How is Winner's Win different from Gamban or BetBlocker?

They block gambling. Winner's Win blocks it too, and tells someone. Up to four people you trust are told if protection is switched off, and nothing unlocks unless they all agree. Gamban and BetBlocker cost far less and are good tools; our comparison says where each one is stronger.

What does it block?

Sportsbooks, online casinos, poker, sweepstakes casinos, daily fantasy and pick'em, prediction markets, lottery and racing sites, and offshore and crypto betting sites: about 340,000 gambling sites plus rules that catch new mirror addresses. It also blocks the VPN, proxy and private DNS services people use to get around a block. Betting apps are shielded with Screen Time once you pick them.

What doesn't it block?

A betting app you're already signed in to, unless you picked it to be shielded. Apps that use their own built-in DNS. Betting apps installed after setup, unless your helper set Installing Apps to Don't Allow in Screen Time. Other devices, and betting in person. No blocker is complete. Winner's Win adds friction and people who notice.

Can I just delete the app or switch it off?

Once a helper sets a Screen Time code on your iPhone, the app can't be deleted and Screen Time settings can't be changed without them. Before that, you can switch things off yourself. Either way, if protection is switched off, your circle is told the next time your phone checks in.

Do the people in my circle pay or need the app?

No. Helpers never pay. They can use a simple web link, or the Winner's Win app on iPhone in "I'm here for someone" mode, which is the most reliable way to get alerts.

What does it cost?

$49.99 a month or $299.99 a year, after a 7-day trial. Apple bills your Apple Account. The plan renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends. One free trial per Apple Account.

What happens if my subscription ends?

Blocking stops, and your circle is told once. If auto-renew is off or a payment fails, you and your circle are told before it ends; a refund ends it at once, with no warning first. Renewing turns blocking back on, with your circle and your sites as they were. On iPhone, you also pick Winner's Win once more in Settings, General, VPN & Device Management, DNS.

What can my helpers see?

Your first name, whether protection is on, days protected and money kept, requests and notes you send, how many times the block screen came up in each category over the last 7 days (never which site), and a casino's name if you turned on casino alerts and arrived at one. Never your browsing history, the sites you visited, a map of where you are, or your phone number.

Is it private?

Sites are checked by our own DNS server. Gambling sites get "not found" and everything else is passed straight on. We don't keep a list of the sites you visit; our hosting provider's short-term request logs can include the names your phone looks up. We don't sell data and there are no ads.

Is there a Mac app?

It's coming soon. The Mac app blocks the same list in every browser and links to the account and circle you set up on iPhone. Leave your email on this page and we'll send one note when it's out.

Is Winner's Win treatment?

No. It's a support tool, not medical care. It's built to sit alongside counseling, Gam-Anon and 1-800-GAMBLER, never instead of them.
